How to choose
- Roof covering: use S, Vario or pantile hooks for tiles, J hooks for slate and bituminous roofs, and brackets for standing seam or trapezoidal sheet.
- Tile and batten limits: S hooks suit ceramic or concrete tiles up to 60 mm thick, with 40x40 mm rails on battens up to 50 mm.
- Adjustment: Vario hooks are 3x adjustable. Slotted S hooks compensate for roof truss irregularities. Fixed J hooks need a flat surface.
- Material: most hooks are stainless steel 1.4016 (H17), grade 430. A2 1.4301, grade 304, is used in selected Vario hooks and the bolts.
- Bolt thread: choose M10 or M12 and the length to suit the substructure. The wood thread goes into timber rafters.
Typical applications
Roof hooks carry PV rails on pitched roofs with ceramic or concrete tiles, slate and bituminous shingles. Double-thread bolts are driven into timber rafters and take adapters or triangles on the metric end. Standing seam brackets install without penetrating the roof. CWL parts and Z-brackets serve flat roofs.
