Timers and Dusk Switches for Automatic Lighting Control
This category covers dusk-dawn switches, astronomical timers and weekly timers from F&F FILIPOWSKI. They switch lighting and other electrical equipment on and off automatically, based on daylight level, sunrise and sunset times, or a set schedule. The range suits installers working on street lighting, shop fronts, advertising and building automation.
What you will find in this category
- Dusk-dawn switches, 10A or 16A, 230V, 2-1000 lux, in IP65 or IP20/65 versions, including a DIN-rail model with an external probe.
- Single-channel astronomical timers (PCZ-524) that calculate switching times from date, location and UT offset.
- Programmable astronomical timer with night break (PCZ-525.3), with LCD display and mobile app, rated IP20.
- Digital astronomical timer PCZ-526.3, 2 modules, I=2x16A, 24÷264 V AC/DC, with programmable night interruption.
- Weekly on/off timer (PCZ-521), single-channel, for schedules set by the user.
How to choose
- Switching principle: choose a dusk switch to follow daylight, an astronomical timer to follow sunrise and sunset, or a weekly timer for a fixed schedule.
- Current and voltage: dusk switches are offered at 10A or 16A, 230V. PCZ-526.3 is rated 2x16A and works on 24÷264 V AC/DC.
- Protection rating: AWZ and AZH are IP65. AZ-112 and AZH-S are IP20/65. The PCZ-525.3 and PCZ-526.3 timers are IP20.
- Night break: PCZ-525.3 and PCZ-526.3 allow consumers to be switched off temporarily at night to save energy.
- Installation: the AZ-112 uses an external probe and mounts on a DIN rail. Other dusk switches need unobstructed access to natural daylight.
Typical applications
Dusk switches are used for street lighting, squares, shop fronts, exhibitions and advertisements. They switch the lighting on after dark and off at dawn. Astronomical timers control lighting and other electrical equipment from daily sunrise and sunset times. Weekly timers manage devices in home or industrial automation systems according to a set schedule.
Frequently asked questions
How do I adjust the switch-on time of a dusk switch?
Use the potentiometer. Turning it towards the moon symbol delays switching on. Turning it towards the sun symbol speeds it up.
Where should a dusk switch be installed?
In a location with unobstructed access to natural daylight, because changes in daylight intensity control the switching. The AZ-112 has an external probe that must be placed in such a location.
How does an astronomical timer know when to switch?
The PCZ-524 uses the current date, the geographical coordinates of the installation and the hourly offset from UT. You can adjust the results with an hourly offset and a time correction.
