Aluminium flat bars for frames, supports and finishing
Flat bars in this category are aluminium flat profiles in EN AW-6060 T6/T66, all supplied in 2000 mm lengths. They are used for supporting structures, mounting frames, reinforcements and finishing elements. The range covers 56 products and suits installers, metalworkers and builders who need a lightweight, easy-to-machine section.
What you will find in this category
- Thin flat bars, 2-4 mm thick: widths 10-50 mm, 0.11-1.10 kg per 2000 mm length. Used for edge finishes, covers and light frames.
- Medium flat bars, 5-8 mm thick: widths 10-100 mm, 0.28-2.70 kg per length. Used for frames, reinforcements and support structures.
- Heavy flat bars, 10-25 mm thick: widths 30-80 mm, 1.60-6.88 kg per length. Used for load-bearing structures and mounting frames.
How to choose
- Cross-section: choose width and thickness for the job. Sizes run from 10×2 mm to 100×5 mm, with thicknesses up to 25 mm.
- Weight: linear weight ranges from 0.054 kg/m to 3.44 kg/m. Check it for transport and installation and for the total load on the structure.
- Alloy: all bars are EN AW-6060 T6/T66 (AlMgSi0.5 / PA38), so the choice comes down to size, not material.
- Surface: all bars have a raw, non-anodised finish. Plan anodising or powder coating if the bar will be visible.
Typical applications
These flat bars are used for support structures, mounting frames and reinforcements. They also serve as edge finishes, covers and façade finishing. Larger sections appear in PV sub-structures, balustrades and racks, while the thinnest sections suit technical enclosures and repairs. The raw surface can be cut, drilled, anodised or powder coated.
Frequently asked questions
What length are the flat bars?
All 56 products are 2000 mm long. Weight is given per piece and per metre, for example 2.16 kg (1.08 kg/m) for 40×10 mm.
Can the bars be finished after cutting?
Yes. The raw, non-anodised surface allows cutting, drilling, anodising and powder coating, or the bar can be left in its natural state.
Do the bars need extra corrosion protection?
Under standard conditions, no. EN AW-6060 aluminium has natural corrosion resistance according to the product descriptions.
