Stoppers - Locks - Buffers: gate stops and door stops
This category covers stops, buffers and locking stoppers for swing, sliding and suspended gates, plus spring and rubber door stops. The range is mostly galvanised or powder-coated steel with rubber or nylon buffers. It is intended for installers who need to limit leaf travel and absorb impact at the end position.
What you will find in this category
- Bolt-on steel gate stops for swing gates, for example 158×138 mm with four Ø9 mm screws, plus a round Ø160 mm model with an M14 stud.
- PSG external gate buffers with rubber bumper and 100×100 mm or 100×80 mm plate, for sliding, swing and pedestrian gates.
- Adjustable swing gate stoppers with self-locking spring mechanism, galvanised steel, height adjustment 68 mm.
- Rail stoppers and bumpers for suspended and overhead gates, with nylon buffer Ø16 mm or Ø20 mm, or rubber buffer Ø30 mm.
- Spring door stop feet in powder-coated steel, 165-320 mm long, tube diameter 14-25 mm, with anti-slip rubber foot.
- Rubber door stops, Ø40-70 mm, height 28-84 mm, screw-on or plug-fixed.
How to choose
- Gate type: pick a stop for swing gates, a buffer for sliding or pedestrian gates, or a rail stopper for suspended gates.
- Rail size: rail stoppers fit specific rails, 35×32×1.5 mm (6V.032) or 50×46×2 mm (6V.046).
- Mounting: check hole spacing and fixing, for example 70×70 mm on the 100×100 mm buffer plate, or floor mounting.
- Finish and material: galvanised steel suits outdoor gates. Powder-coated steel feet come in black, white, brown and bronze.
- Size and weight: check height, length and weight against the leaf. Adjustable locking stoppers weigh 1.06 kg.
Typical applications
Gate stops sit at the meeting point of double-leaf swing gates. They protect the gate structure and drive components from impact. Buffers stop sliding and pedestrian gates at their end position. Rail stoppers stop the trolley at the end of the running rail so it cannot fall off. Spring and rubber stops hold doors and gates and protect walls.
Frequently asked questions
How many buffers does a double-leaf swing gate need?
For double-leaf swing gates, the PSG 100×80 mm buffer description recommends two buffers, one for each leaf.
How is a rail stopper fixed and adjusted?
The 6V.046 stopper clamps onto a 50×46×2 mm rail with a screw clamp, so its position can be adjusted. The 6V.032 is fitted with two adjustment screws.
Is a fixing plug supplied with the large rubber floor stop?
No. The 70 mm rubber floor door stop is mounted with an expansion plug, which is not included in the set.
