PV Aluminium Mounting Profile 40×40 mm / 625 cm – for M10 Hex Bolts

PV mounting profile 40×40 mm with a length of 625 cm is a fundamental component of the load-bearing structure for photovoltaic installations on pitched roofs. Made from 6060 aluminium alloy, it combines low self-weight with good mechanical strength and high corrosion resistance. The dual-channel cross-section — featuring an upper rail channel for mounting module clamps and a lower channel for connecting to roof hooks, adapters or triangles — allows for quick and secure assembly of the entire system. The profile is designed for M10 DIN 933 hex bolts in the lower channel and M8 square nuts in the upper channel, ensuring compatibility with popular mid and end clamps available on the market.

The profile performs well as a mounting rail in systems installed on pitched roofs covered with roof tiles, trapezoidal sheet metal and other coverings. The upper rail channel accepts mid and end clamps that press the photovoltaic module frame directly onto the profile. The lower channel is used to connect to roof hooks or adapters fixed to the rafters. As a result, the entire structure forms a stable, ventilated load-bearing system that transfers wind and snow loads onto the roof truss.

Cross-section and channel dimensions
The technical cross-section drawing shows the detailed geometry of the profile. External dimensions are 40 ±0.5 × 40 ±0.5 mm. The upper rail channel has an opening width of 10.8 ±0.3 mm and is designed for M8 square nuts. The lower rail channel has an opening width of 9 ±0.75 mm and a depth allowing an M10 DIN 933 hex bolt to be seated. The wall thickness is 1.2 mm around the entire perimeter of the profile, ensuring an even distribution of stress while keeping the weight low.
