Grounding washer variant III is a round, solid mounting component designed for equipotential bonding in photovoltaic installations. Its purpose is to ensure galvanic continuity of the connections between PV module frames, structural profiles, and other metal components of the system. The characteristic sharp teeth arranged around the circumference of the washer pierce the thin anodised aluminium layer covering the frames of photovoltaic modules — a layer that acts as an insulator and does not conduct electrical charges. This allows the teeth to reach the aluminium layer directly beneath the anodised coating, creating a solid and durable electrical connection. The washer is made of A2 stainless steel (1.4301, grade 304) — a non-magnetic austenitic steel that is flexible and resistant to stress. The high corrosion resistance resulting from the addition of nickel to the alloy guarantees uninterrupted operation in all environmental conditions for many years of installation use.
