Energy meters for single-phase and three-phase electricity metering
This category contains electricity meters and sub-meters for DIN rail installation, plus a Wi-Fi energy monitor for photovoltaic systems. They measure energy consumption in single-phase and three-phase networks. The range is intended for installers, electricians and builders who fit metering into distribution boards.
What you will find in this category
- Single-phase meters: WZE-1 (F&F FILIPOWSKI, 45 A) and LEM-02 (ZAMEL, 50 A, LCD, 1 module).
- Three-phase meters, 80 A: WZE-3 (F&F FILIPOWSKI, MID) and OR-WE-520 (ORNO, MID, 4.5 modules).
- Three-phase meters, 100 A: LEM-30 (ZAMEL), SIMLIC LCD-3F/4M (SIMET) and LE-03M (F&F FILIPOWSKI).
- Bidirectional Wi-Fi energy monitor 3F+N for PV (ZAMEL): 100 A current transformers, DIN rail mounting, 2.4 GHz.
How to choose
- Number of phases: choose a single-phase meter for one-phase circuits and a three-phase meter for three-phase networks.
- Current: the range covers 45 A to 100 A. Check the figure against the load of the circuit.
- MID: some models meet the MID directive and some do not. Check the product specification.
- Width and mounting: the meters sit on a 35 mm DIN rail. Widths in the range are 1, 4 and 4.5 modules, so check the space in the board.
- Outputs and communication: LEM-30 and SIMLIC LCD-3F/4M have a pulse output. The PV monitor communicates over Wi-Fi, and one model in the range offers RS-485.
Typical applications
Three-phase meters such as the LEM-30 suit commercial and industrial installations. Single-phase and three-phase sub-meters let you track consumption in individual circuits. The bidirectional monitor is for photovoltaic installations. It measures active and reactive power and needs no special electrical or telecommunication installation.
Frequently asked questions
How are these meters mounted?
They are designed for a 35 mm DIN rail (TH35) inside a distribution board. Widths range from 1 to 4.5 modules, depending on the model.
Can I connect a meter to an external counting device?
Yes, with some models. The ZAMEL LEM-30 and the SIMET SIMLIC LCD-3F/4M both have a pulse output for connecting an additional counting device.
What if the Wi-Fi monitor is fitted in a metal cabinet?
The ZAMEL monitor comes with an antenna. If the antenna must be mounted outside the cabinet, especially a metal one, an external antenna with an SMA connector is required.
