The M16 adjustable hinge with backplate is a steel gate hardware component designed for fitting swing gates and wicket gates. Its built-in adjusting nut allows precise alignment of the gate leaf both during installation and throughout its service life – without the need to dismantle the entire structure.
The hinge consists of a galvanised 80×80 mm backplate with four fixing holes and a raw ear designed to be welded to the gate leaf frame prior to galvanising. The combination of a galvanised backplate and raw steel ear ensures full corrosion protection after galvanising the complete assembly and an aesthetically clean finish on the completed installation.
Why choose an adjustable hinge? In outdoor conditions, metal is subject to thermal movement – contracting in winter and expanding in summer. Over time, a gate leaf may begin to sag. An adjustable hinge allows you to correct the alignment at any time using the adjusting nut – simply tighten or loosen it to restore the gate to proper operation.
