Description
Resin for anchoring M8–M30 threaded rods in a 400 ml cartridge; installation at substrate temperatures down to −20 °C, styrene-free
About the product
Winter grade chemical anchor resin (styrene-free) is used for anchoring M8–M30 threaded rods in concrete and masonry (solid and hollow), including in winter. It is intended for fixings carrying medium and heavy loads (according to the manufacturer). The resin is supplied in a 400 ml cartridge.
The rod thread size determines the installation parameters in concrete. The manufacturer's table specifies the required drill bit diameter, the hole depth range (minimum and maximum) and the recommended minimum nut tightening torque. After drilling the hole, clean it with a brush of the diameter specified in the manufacturer's table and remove the dust. Then fill the hole with resin from the bottom and insert the rod. Once the curing time appropriate to the substrate temperature has elapsed, tighten the nut to the torque given in the table — only then may the fixing be loaded.
Installation in water-filled holes is not permitted. Although application is possible at substrate temperatures as low as −20 °C, the resin itself must be brought to a temperature of at least +5 °C before use. At low temperatures, the curing time extends to several tens of hours; select the appropriate time for the substrate temperature, taking into account the resin temperature stated alongside the manufacturer's table. The load-bearing capacity of the anchorage depends on the substrate, rod diameter and embedment depth — for structural connections, it is specified in the design.
Selection and installation
- ✓Drill a hole to the diameter and depth specified in the table for the given rod.
- ✓Clean the hole with a brush of the diameter specified in the manufacturer's table and remove the dust; do not install in a water-filled hole.
- ✓Bring the resin to at least +5 °C before use; fill the hole from the bottom and insert the rod.
- ✓Apply loads only after the curing time appropriate to the substrate temperature has elapsed; tighten the nut to the torque given in the table.
Important
The load-bearing capacity of the anchorage depends on the substrate, rod diameter and embedment depth – for structural connections, it is specified in the design. At low temperatures, the curing time extends to several tens of hours.
