Description
Type D clamp with a pitched bend, made from rod threaded at both ends – for securing pipes and masts; galvanised finish
About the product
The type D U-bolt is a clamp with a pitched bend, made from rod threaded at both ends. It is used for securing pipes, masts and round bars to beams, posts and structures.
This size is intended for 1" pipe – check the outside diameter of the pipe being secured when selecting the size. The internal spacing between the legs A is 35 mm. Height H is 68 mm, thread length L1 is 32 mm, and the thread size is M8. These are nominal values in accordance with the manufacturer's dimensional designation. During installation, pass the legs through the holes in the substrate or in a U-bolt backing plate of the same size. Tighten the M8 nuts alternately on both sides until the clamp sits evenly against the pipe.
The coating (zinc-coated) protects the steel against corrosion under typical conditions. In the event of contact with salt, chemicals or constant moisture, choose a finish suitable for the exposure conditions. The load capacity of the fixing depends on the substrate, the pipe and the tightening force – it is determined by the design.
