Stainless steel A2 (also designated as V2A or AISI 304) is an austenitic chromium-nickel steel belonging to corrosion resistance class CRC II. It is characterised by good corrosion resistance in atmospheric conditions and is suitable for applications in equipment installation, timber construction, balustrades and architecture. It is not recommended for use in environments with high chloride content (swimming pools, seaside) – in such cases, A4 steel should be selected.
