A2 stainless steel (also designated as V2A or AISI 304) is an austenitic chromium-nickel steel belonging to corrosion resistance class CRC II. It is characterised by good corrosion resistance in atmospheric conditions and is suitable for applications in equipment installation, timber construction, balustrades and architecture. It is not recommended for use in environments with high chloride content (swimming pools, coastal areas) – in such cases A4 steel should be selected.
