About the product
A swing hook with a metric thread is used for suspending swings, hammocks and ropes. It consists of a threaded rod ending in a closed ring with a projecting tip. It screws into an internally threaded component, such as an anchor sleeve, nut or tapped hole.
The designation M10 specifies the hook's metric thread — the mating component must have a matching thread. The overall length H is 160 mm, measured from the end of the thread to the furthest point of the bent section. The thread length L1 is 90 mm, and the outside diameter of the bend Dz is 54 mm. These are nominal values according to the manufacturer's table. Screw the hook in to the depth required by the mating component and secure any thread projecting beyond that component with a locknut. After installation, align the end with the direction of the load; do not apply sideways loads to the hook at the bend.
Material: steel. Property class: 5.8. Coating: electro-galvanised. The zinc coating protects the steel against corrosion under typical conditions; where exposed to salt, chemicals or persistent moisture, choose a version suitable for the exposure conditions. The manufacturer does not specify the hook's load capacity. The permissible load depends on the substrate and fixing method — it is specified by the design or the anchor manufacturer. Do not use the hook for lifting loads or for personal fall protection.
Selection and installation
- ✓Match the thread of the mating component to M10 — an anchor, nut or internally threaded sleeve.
- ✓Screw the hook in to the depth required by the mating component (available thread: L1 = 90 mm); secure any thread projecting beyond the component with a locknut.
- ✓After installation, align the end with the direction of the load; do not apply sideways loads to the hook at the bend.
Important
The manufacturer does not specify the hook's load capacity. The permissible load depends on the substrate and fixing method — it is specified by the design or the anchor manufacturer. Do not use the hook for lifting loads or for personal fall protection.
