Description
Rectangular type C clamp made from a rod threaded at both ends – for securing pipes and sections; galvanised finish
About the product
A type C U-bolt is a rectangular clamp made from a rod threaded at both ends. It is used to secure pipes and sections, as well as masts and round bars, to beams, posts and structures.
This model is intended for pipe size 4", but check the pipe's outside diameter when selecting the size. The internal spacing between the legs A is 115 mm. The height H is 170 mm and the thread is M10. These are nominal values in accordance with the manufacturer's dimensional designation. During installation, pass the legs through the holes in the substrate or in a U-bolt backing plate of the same size. Tighten the M10 nuts alternately on both sides until the clamp sits evenly against the pipe.
Coating: zinc-coated. It protects the steel against corrosion under typical conditions. In the event of contact with salt, chemicals or constant moisture, choose a finish suitable for the exposure conditions. The load capacity of the fixing depends on the substrate, the pipe and the tightening force – it is determined by the design.
Selection and installation
- ✓Select the U-bolt to suit the outside diameter of the pipe – the internal spacing between the legs is A = 115 mm.
- ✓Pass the legs through the holes in the substrate or in a U-bolt backing plate of the same size.
- ✓Tighten the M10 nuts alternately on both sides until the clamp sits evenly against the pipe.
Important
Dimensions in accordance with the manufacturer's designation. The load capacity of the fixing depends on the substrate, the pipe and the tightening force – it is determined by the design.
