Description
Snap hook with a spring-loaded gate and locking nut – once screwed shut, the gate cannot open accidentally; zinc-plated steel
About the product
The snap hook with screw lock to DIN 5299 D is used for connecting ropes, chains and fittings where the gate must not open by itself. It features a spring-loaded gate and a locking nut – once screwed shut, the gate cannot open accidentally.
The size 8 × 80 mm denotes the wire diameter d = 8 mm and the overall length L = 80 mm. The internal width of the eye D is 11 mm, and the gate opening C is 9 mm. Check that the component to be attached (eye, link or rope) fits through this opening. Select the carabiner to suit the load — do not exceed the working load limit of 230 kg. After attachment, screw the locking nut on the gate fully shut.
Material: C10 steel. Coating: zinc-coated. The zinc coating protects the steel against corrosion under typical conditions; where contact with salt, chemicals or constant moisture is expected, choose a version suited to the exposure conditions. The working load limit applies to loading along the carabiner's axis; sideways loading of the gate reduces the load-bearing capacity. The breaking load is 345 kg and is not the working load limit. The carabiner is not intended for lifting loads over people or for personal fall protection.
Selection and installation
- ✓Select the carabiner according to the load – do not exceed the working load limit of 230 kg.
- ✓Check that the component to be attached (eye, link or rope) fits through the gate opening C = 9 mm.
- ✓After attachment, screw the locking nut on the gate fully shut.
Important
The carabiner is not intended for lifting loads over people or for personal fall protection. The working load limit applies to loading along the carabiner's axis; sideways loading of the gate reduces the load-bearing capacity.
