Description
Snap hook with a spring-loaded gate for quick connection of ropes, chains and fittings; zinc-plated steel
About the product
The snap hook with a spring-loaded gate according to DIN 5299 C is used for quick connection and disconnection of ropes, cords, chains, attachment points and fittings without tools.
The size 8 × 80 mm denotes the wire diameter d = 8 mm and the overall length L = 80 mm. Dimension D = 12 mm specifies the internal width of the eye, and C = 10 mm specifies the gate opening. Check that the component to be attached (eye, link or rope) fits through this opening. Select the carabiner according to its working load limit of 230 kg and do not exceed this value. After attachment, check that the gate has returned automatically and rests against the nose.
Material: C10 steel. Coating: zinc-coated. The zinc coating protects the steel against corrosion under typical conditions; where contact with salt, chemicals or constant moisture is expected, choose a version suited to the exposure conditions. The working load limit applies to loading along the carabiner's axis; sideways loading of the gate reduces the load-bearing capacity. The breaking load is 345 kg and is not the working load limit. The carabiner is not intended for lifting loads over people or for personal fall protection.
Selection and installation
- ✓Select the carabiner according to the load – do not exceed the working load limit of 230 kg.
- ✓Check that the component to be attached (eye, link or rope) fits through the gate opening C = 10 mm.
- ✓After attachment, check that the gate has returned automatically and rests against the nose.
Important
The carabiner is not intended for lifting loads over people or for personal fall protection. The working load limit applies to loading along the carabiner's axis; sideways loading of the gate reduces the load-bearing capacity.
