Description
Threaded rod ending in an open hook – for screwing into a metric thread and quickly hanging components; steel property class 5.8, zinc-plated
About the product
A round hook with a metric thread is a threaded rod ending in an open hook. It is used for screwing into a metric thread and quickly hanging components that need to be easily removable.
The designation M8 specifies the hook thread — it fits an anchor sleeve, nut or hole with the same internal thread. The overall length H is 120 mm, measured from the end of the thread to the furthest point of the curved section. L1 is the thread length: 80 mm, and Dz is the outside diameter of the bend: 27 mm. These are nominal values according to the manufacturer's table. Screw the hook in to the depth required by the mating component, and secure the thread projecting beyond the component with a locknut. After installation, align the hook end with the direction of the load; do not apply a sideways load to the bend of the hook.
Material: steel, property class: 5.8, coating: electro-galvanised. The zinc coating protects the steel against corrosion under typical conditions. Where contact with salt, chemicals or constant moisture is expected, choose a version suited to the exposure conditions. The manufacturer does not specify the load-bearing capacity of the hook — the permissible load depends on the substrate and fixing method, and is specified in the design or by the anchor manufacturer. Do not use the hook for lifting loads or for personal fall protection.
Selection and installation
- ✓Match the thread of the mating component to M8 – an anchor, nut or sleeve with an internal thread.
- ✓Screw the hook in to the depth required by the mating component (available thread: L1 = 80 mm); secure the thread projecting beyond the component with a locknut.
- ✓After installation, align the hook end with the direction of the load; do not apply a sideways load to the bend of the hook.
Important
The manufacturer does not specify the load-bearing capacity of the hook. The permissible load depends on the substrate and fixing method – it is specified in the design or by the anchor manufacturer. Do not use the hook for lifting loads or for personal fall protection.
