L-type wall plate anchor (hook bolt) with an M14 thread and a length of 400 mm — a reliable bent anchor bolt designed for the durable anchoring of wall plates in a concrete ring beam. The galvanised finish provides protection against corrosion, and the supplied nut and washer mean installation can begin immediately after delivery.
Application
The L-type anchor is used to mechanically connect a timber wall plate to a concrete ring beam. The bent end of the rod is embedded in the concrete when the ring beam is poured, while the threaded shank protrudes above the surface — allowing the wall plate to be drawn down and secured with a nut and washer. This solution is widely used in detached housing and agricultural or outbuilding construction when erecting roof structures.
Design and construction
The anchor consists of a steel rod bent at a right angle (L-shaped) with a metric thread on the straight end. The technical drawing shows the key dimensions: L — total length of the rod, A — length of the bend (hook), ØD — rod diameter, L1 — length of the threaded section, M — metric thread and R — bend radius. The threaded end is chamfered, which makes it easier to start the nut.
