Kozza KE 105 – L-type aluminium profile for full-glass balustrades 5000 mm, top-mounted longitudinal fixing
Kozza KE 105 is a multi-chamber L-type aluminium profile designed for building full-glass balustrades. It has been developed in line with architects' requirements and is suitable for both residential spaces and large commercial buildings — hotels, shopping centres and office buildings. Thanks to longitudinal top fixing, the profile is mounted directly on the edge of a floor slab or parapet, creating a minimalist, almost invisible glass fixing line.
The flat system combined with a matt anodised finish ensures a modern, understated look — the profile does not dominate visually, and the glass pane becomes the main feature of the balustrade. The universal glass thickness range of 12 to 21.52 mm allows glass panels to be selected flexibly to suit the structural and design requirements of any project.

Mounting holes
The profile has 17 mounting holes distributed along its entire length. The through holes have a diameter of Ø 12 mm, and the countersinks Ø 29 mm. The centre-to-centre spacing between holes is 300 mm, with an edge distance of 100 mm from each end of the profile. This layout ensures even load distribution and quick installation using mechanical or chemical anchors.
Glass compatibility
The KE 105 profile works with three glass thickness ranges, allowing it to be adapted to different structural and design requirements:
- 12–13.52 mm glass — standard toughened and laminated panels
- 16–17.52 mm glass — laminated safety glass (e.g. 2×8 mm + PVB interlayer)
- 20–21.52 mm glass — thick laminated panels for applications with higher strength requirements (e.g. 2×10 mm + PVB interlayer)
Anchoring methods
The Kozza KE 105 system offers flexibility in choosing the anchoring method. Depending on the substrate and structural requirements, the profile can be fixed using different types of anchors — mechanical or chemical. The illustration shows three variants of setting the profile in concrete, allowing the installer to choose the optimal solution for the given type of structure.
Load resistance — test results
The KE 105 profile with 10+10+1.52 mm laminated glass at a height of 1.0 m achieves a maximum wind load of 2.65 kN/m² and a maximum impact resistance of 1.35 kN/m. Numerical analysis (FEA) confirms minimal displacement values even under extreme horizontal loads below 500 kg (5000 N) per metre of profile base length.

Installations and applications
The Kozza KE 105 profile is ideal for installing glass balustrades on balconies, terraces, staircases and parapets. Step-by-step installation
Installing the KE 105 profile involves three stages. In stage 1, the substrate is prepared, the mounting holes are drilled and the base profile is anchored, then the gaskets are fitted. In stage 2, the glass is installed in the profile channel and secured with spacer wedges. In stage 3, the clamping screws are tightened and the cover (cover strip) is fitted, giving a finished, attractive balustrade. The whole installation requires no welding or specialist equipment — standard installation tools are enough.
