Kozza KE 100 – U-profile for all-glass balustrades 5000 mm black, top mounting
U-shaped hollow profile for all-glass balustrades from the Kozza KE 100 series is a solution designed to meet architects' requirements and intended for professional projects — from residential spaces to commercial buildings such as hotels and shopping centres. Mounted from the top (flat system), it provides an attractive and safe way of fixing toughened glass with a thickness of 12 to 21.52 mm with no visible fixing elements.
The 5000 mm long profile is supplied with factory-drilled 17 mounting holes (Ø 12 mm with Ø 29 mm countersink), spaced every 300 mm — which significantly speeds up installation on site. The black powder-coated finish gives the balustrade a modern, minimalist look, blending perfectly with dark window frames and interior trim elements.

Glass thickness compatibility
The KE 100 profile accommodates three glass thickness ranges, allowing the solution to be matched to project requirements and applicable safety standards:
- Glass 12–13.52 mm — standard toughened and laminated VSG panes
- Glass 16–17.52 mm — laminated panes with increased strength
- Glass 20–21.52 mm — thick laminated panes for high-load applications
Dimensions and layout of mounting holes
The profile has 17 through holes with a diameter of Ø 12 mm and Ø 29 mm countersinks, allowing the screw head to be recessed. The holes are arranged symmetrically along the profile axis:
- Distance from the edge to the first hole: 100 mm
- Spacing between holes: 300 mm
- Distance from the last hole to the edge: 100 mm
- Total profile length: 5000 mm
Anchoring method and installation
The profile is mounted from the top onto the surface of the substrate (e.g. floor slab, parapet, balcony edge). Anchoring is carried out with screws through factory-prepared countersunk holes. The protruding part of the profile (20 mm below the base) is embedded in the prepared substrate, ensuring a stable and durable connection.
Maximum glass height
The KE 100 profile allows the installation of glass panels with a maximum height of 120 cm (1.2 m). At this height, the profile retains full load-bearing capacity and stability, as confirmed by wind and impact load test results for the individual glass thicknesses.
Strength analysis of the profile
The results of the displacement analysis carried out using the finite element method (FEM) confirm the high rigidity of the structure. The simulation was performed for a profile with a base length of 1 m, under a horizontal load of less than 500 kg (5000 N), applied from the base to the highest point of the profile. The maximum displacement at the top edge of the profile is within permissible limits (value scale from 0.030 to 0.420 Kgf, cm, C), which guarantees the safe use of the balustrade.

The above values apply to KE 100, KE 105 and KE 120 profiles, for glass heights of 1.0 m and 1.2 m. The KE 100 profile with 16–17.52 mm glass at a height of 1.0 m achieves a maximum wind load of 3.0 kN/m² and an impact load of 1.50 kN/m, making it a suitable solution even for demanding locations.
