Description

Galvanised turnbuckle M6×110 mm – hook–eye, DIN 1480

Galvanised hook–eye turnbuckle M6x110 DIN 1480
Galvanised hook–eye turnbuckle M6x110 DIN 1480

Forged hook–eye turnbuckle M6x110 manufactured in accordance with DIN 1480 is a reliable tensioning element designed for adjusting the tension of steel wire ropes, chains and tie rods. The turnbuckle body is forged, which ensures a highly uniform material structure and strength superior to cast components. The hook–eye end allows a flexible connection — the hook enables quick attachment and detachment of the rope, while the eye provides a permanent fixing by means of a shackle or pin. The turnbuckle is made of low-alloy structural steel and protected with electro-galvanised zinc, which guards it against corrosion in outdoor conditions.

Applications and advantages

  • Tensioning steel wire ropes in lightning protection, fencing and roofing installations
  • Adjusting the tension of tie rods in steel structures and suspended systems
  • The hook–eye end ensures quick installation and removal without the need to unravel the rope
  • The forged body construction guarantees higher strength than cast components
  • Electro-galvanised coating provides corrosion protection in outdoor conditions

Hook–eye turnbuckle M6 — detail view

A turnbuckle works on the principle of two threaded rods (right-hand and left-hand) screwed into a central body with a sleeve. Turning the body screws both rods in or out simultaneously, which allows smooth tension adjustment without dismantling the entire connection. This makes the element ideal wherever precise tensioning of a rope or tie rod is required, with the possibility of later correction. The product is sold individually, which allows the order to be matched precisely to the needs of a specific project.

Technical data sheet for hook–eye turnbuckle DIN 1480 — size table
Technical data sheet for hook–eye turnbuckle DIN 1480 — size table

The manufacturer supplies a full technical data sheet with a test certificate (inspection no. 44/DRO), confirming the strength and dimensional parameters of the entire KHO series. The document covers all sizes from M5 to M36, which makes it easier to select the right variant for a specific project. The M6 turnbuckle offers a minimum breaking force of 2.91 kN, ensuring safe operation in typical installation and fittings applications.
