Description
Wire rope grip for forming eyes in and joining steel wire ropes; U-bolt with M6 nuts and body (saddle), zinc-plated
About the product
A wire rope grip is used for forming eyes in steel wire ropes, joining steel wire ropes and securing guy wires. It consists of a U-bolt with nuts and a body known as the saddle. During fitting, it is important to position these components correctly in relation to the live part of the rope and its dead end.
This size is intended for rope with a diameter of 8 mm. Dimension A denotes the U-bolt thread (M6), B is the grip height (29 mm), and C is the spacing between the U-bolt legs (16 mm). These are nominal values according to the manufacturer's technical datasheet. The product is described as equivalent to standard DIN 741. Fit at least 5 grips per eye, spaced 21–42 mm apart. Place the bridge (body) on the live part of the rope and the U-bolt on the dead end. Tighten the nuts evenly; after the first application of load, check the connection and retighten them if necessary.
Material specification (U-bolt with nuts and body): C15 steel and cast iron. The coating used is zinc-coated, which protects the steel against corrosion under normal conditions. Where there is contact with salt, chemicals or persistent moisture, choose the grip material according to the exposure conditions. Not for lifting loads or for personal fall protection. The strength of the eye termination depends on the rope itself and the number and spacing of the grips — it is determined by the design.
