Description
Split link for permanently joining and repairing chains – the halves are closed by riveting; C5–C10 steel, zinc-plated
About the product
A rivet link is used for repairing and permanently joining chains. It is a split component whose halves are fitted onto the ends of the chain to be joined, and then closed by riveting the pins.
The size 6 mm corresponds to the bar diameter (d). The internal length (h) is 33 mm and the internal width (b) is 12 mm. The internal dimensions 33 × 12 mm must accommodate the links of the chain being joined. When selecting the link, also take into account the rated load of 60 kg, which must not be exceeded. To install the link, separate it into halves and fit the ends of the chain to be joined. Then bring the halves together and rivet the pins with a hammer on a hard supporting surface. Finally, check that the halves are pressed tightly together along their entire length and do not separate.
Material: C5–C10 steel. Coating: zinc-coated. The zinc coating protects the steel against corrosion under typical conditions; where there is contact with salt, chemicals or constant moisture, choose a version according to the exposure conditions. The breaking load is 240 kg – this is a limit value, not a working load. The link is not intended for lifting loads or personal fall protection. Replace the component if it is worn, deformed or corroded.
Selection and installation
- ✓Separate the link into halves and fit the ends of the chain to be joined.
- ✓Bring the halves together and rivet the pins with a hammer on a hard supporting surface.
