About the product

This rope made from galvanised steel wires with a clear PVC coating is intended for guy wires, suspensions, guards and wire rope barriers. It consists of a steel wire rope and a surrounding PVC sheath that protects the steel wire.

The diameter including the coating, denoted by d, is 2 mm, while the diameter of the steel wire rope itself, d1, is 1 mm. These are nominal values according to the supplier's data. The rope construction is 1×7. The product is sold by the metre and cut from a reel to the ordered length. Select termination fittings (wire rope grips, ferrules, thimbles) to suit the rope diameter and the fitting manufacturer's recommendations. Before installation, check that the coating is not cut or abraded.

Damage to the coating exposes the wire, so its condition must also be checked during inspections. The supplier does not specify the load capacity or breaking load of this rope – do not use it for lifting loads or for personal fall protection. The working load is determined by the design.
