Description
Lifting eye nut for creating an attachment point on a bolt or threaded rod; eye with collar, zinc-plated C15 steel
About the product
A lifting eye nut is used to create an attachment point on a bolt or threaded rod – for ropes, chains and fittings. It has a thread for screwing onto a bolt or rod and an eye with a collar.
The M30 thread must match the thread of the bolt or rod. The outside diameter of the eye D is 108 mm, and the inside diameter of the eye Ø is 60 mm. The height H is 109 mm. These are nominal values according to the manufacturer's datasheet. The standard for the nut is DIN 582. During installation, screw the nut on until the collar is fully seated against the surface. Before attaching a rope or chain, align the eye in the plane of the load direction.
Material: C15 steel. Coating: zinc-coated. The zinc coating protects the steel against corrosion under typical conditions; where exposed to salt, chemicals or persistent moisture, choose a version suitable for the exposure conditions. The rated load of 3600 kg stated in the manufacturer's datasheet applies to a correctly screwed-on component. When pulling at an angle to the axis, the permissible load is lower, and the working load for a specific application is specified by the design. The breaking load of 21180 kg stated in the manufacturer's datasheet is not a working load. Do not use the component for lifting people.
Selection and installation
- ✓Check the thread of the bolt or rod: it must match the M30 thread of the nut.
- ✓Screw the nut on until the collar is fully seated against the surface.
- ✓Align the eye in the plane of the load direction before attaching a rope or chain.
Important
The rated load stated in the data sheet applies to a correctly screwed-on component; it is lower when loaded at an angle. Do not use the component for lifting people. The working load for a specific application is specified by the design.
