Description
Decorative head with milling ribs, TX25 drive, C1 (AISI 410) stainless steel
About the product
A decking screw is used to fasten decking boards to timber joists. It has a decorative head with milling ribs and a TX25 recess for driving with a TX25 bit. The head diameter is 8 mm.
The 5 × 70 mm screw is partially threaded: the thread is 46 mm long, and the rest of the shank under the head is smooth. Choose the pilot hole for the type of timber; pre-drilling near the edges of the board is advisable to reduce the risk of splitting. The screw dimensions do not determine the load capacity of the joint – this depends on, among other things, the timber, the screw engagement depth and the joint layout, and is set by the design.
The screw is made of C1 (AISI 410) stainless steel. Where chlorides are present, for example by the sea or a swimming pool, choose the material according to the exposure conditions and the design recommendations. Sold in boxes of 100 pcs; each box weighs 0.64 kg.
Preparing the installation
- ✓Choose the pilot hole for the type of timber.
- ✓Pre-drill near the edges of the board – this reduces the risk of splitting.
- ✓Drive in with a TX25 bit.
Important
The screw dimensions do not define the load capacity of a particular joint. The load capacity depends, among other things, on the timber, the screw-in depth and the joint layout – it is set by the design.
