Aluminium channel 18×18×2 mm is a versatile open profile with a C/U cross-section, designed for constructing lightweight structures, guides, frames, and trim strips. Made from EN AW-6060 T64 alloy (AlMgSi0.5 / PA38), it combines low weight with high rigidity and natural corrosion resistance — suitable for both indoor and outdoor installations.
Versatile applications
The channel profile is one of the most widely used sections in the everyday work of installers and structural designers. The symmetrical 18×18 mm cross-section and 2 mm wall thickness provide sufficient mechanical strength while keeping weight low — an entire two-metre length weighs just 0.54 kg. Raw (non-anodised) aluminium can be easily cut, drilled, bent, and mechanically joined, speeding up assembly work on site.
The channel profile works excellently as a sliding guide, a frame element for a substructure, a trim or finishing strip, as well as a component in aluminium structures for photovoltaics, technical furniture, and modelling.

Material and processing
The EN AW-6060 T64 alloy belongs to the magnesium-silicon aluminium family (AlMgSi). It is characterised by excellent formability, weldability, and resistance to atmospheric corrosion. The T64 temper denotes a heat treatment that provides an optimal balance between strength and ductility — the profile can be readily cut with a hacksaw, drilled with standard HSS drill bits, and cold-bent to moderate radii if required.
