Description

The adjustable bolt-down post base with plate is a structural steel connector designed for fixing timber posts to concrete foundations. Thanks to its continuously variable width adjustment, it allows precise fitting to different timber cross-sections, eliminating the need for multiple size variants on a single construction site.
The post base consists of a base plate fixed to the substrate, a threaded spindle and two movable side plates that slide along the guides and allow smooth adjustment of the spacing. The robust plate thickness provides adequate rigidity and load-bearing capacity of the connection, even under the full load of the post.
The post base holds the post at a safe distance from the ground, effectively protecting the end grain of the timber from capillary rise of moisture from the concrete. The gold galvanised finish gives the component an attractive appearance and an additional layer of corrosion protection — a solution that is particularly useful in visible structures such as pergolas, shelters and decks. The mounting holes in the base plate and side plates allow a secure bolted connection to both the foundation and the timber post.
