A washer head timber screw is a fastener for joining timber structures. The large washer head clamps the joined components over a wide surface area, while the Torx TX40 drive holds the bit securely during installation, reducing the risk of it slipping.
The screw has a partial thread – a smooth shank beneath the head and a threaded section near the tip. This design is typical of structural timber screws: the thread anchors into the base member, while the smooth section of the shank allows the fixed component to be pulled tight.
