Description
Zinc-plated Countersunk timber screw TX25 4.5×50 mm – partially threaded – pack of 500

The 4.5×50 mm Countersunk timber screw is a fastener for timber structures. The countersunk head sits flush with the timber surface, while the Torx TX25 drive holds the bit securely during installation. The partial thread allows the joined components to be pulled tightly together.
The screw is made from low-carbon steel with an electro-zinc-plated coating. Zinc plating is a commonly used corrosion protection for steel fasteners. It is supplied in a pack of 500 screws, intended for larger projects.
Applications
- Joining timber components in timber structures
- Work where the head needs to sit flush with the timber surface
- Timber-to-timber joints where clamping the components together is important
- Assembly work in timber using a power screwdriver with a Torx bit

Screw design
The partial thread means that the smooth section of the shank beneath the head offers no resistance as the components are pulled together, while the threaded section grips the timber. The countersunk head seats well in the material, and the Torx drive transfers torque without excessive pressure on the bit.
Timber screws of this type are selected for timber-to-timber joints, taking into account the screw length and thread length relative to the thickness of the components being joined.
