Description
Washer head timber screw, zinc-plated, TX40, 8.0×320 mm – partial thread – pack of 50

The washer head timber screw is a fastener for timber structures where the joined components need to be clamped using the large surface area of the head. It is made of low-carbon steel with an electro-zinc-plated coating, and the partial thread allows the joined components to be drawn tightly together.
The washer head distributes pressure over a larger area than a cylindrical or countersunk head, making screws of this type suitable for fixing beams, rafters, wall plates, timber construction angle brackets and other components of roof frames and timber structures.
The Torx drive provides secure bit engagement during installation, which is important with long structural screws. Choosing a bit that matches the drive size is essential for efficient work.
Applications and selection
- Joining components of timber roof frames and timber-frame structures
- Fixing angle brackets and timber connectors to beams
- Joining thick timber sections where a long screw is required
- Carpentry work carried out by construction and installation companies, for example when preparing timber substructures
Partially threaded timber screws should be selected according to the thickness of the joined components, so that the threaded section is embedded in the load-bearing component and the smooth shank passes through the component being fixed. The product is supplied in a convenient bulk pack.

Electro-zinc plating
Electro-zinc plating is a standard corrosion protection for the steel used in timber screws. Zinc-plated screws are used in timber structures that are not directly exposed to moisture or weather.
