Description
Washer head timber screw, zinc-plated, TX40, 8.0×200 mm – partially threaded – pack of 50

The washer head timber screw is a structural fastener for timber, designed for use in roof structures, timber frames and carpentry joints. The wide washer head clamps the joined components over a large surface area, while the Torx recess provides secure bit engagement during installation.
The partial thread allows the smooth shank to pass through the component being fastened, while the threaded tip anchors into the supporting member. This makes the screw well suited to joining thicker timber components.
The electro-zinc-plated coating protects the steel against corrosion during storage and under typical conditions inside structures. The product is sold in a bulk pack.

Applications and selection
- Joining timber components in roof structures and timber frames
- Fastening beams, rafters and battens where a wide head bearing surface is needed
- Fastening angle brackets and timber connectors to wood
- Work requiring long screws with a thread at the tip
Washer head screws are used where a large head bearing surface on the joined component is important. The screw length and thread length should be selected according to the thickness of the timber components, ensuring that the threaded section is fully anchored in the supporting member.
