Description

Unequal Aluminium Angle 40×20×2 mm – L-Profile, Length 2000 mm

Unequal aluminium angle 40×20×2 mm – perspective view of L-profile
Unequal aluminium angle 40×20×2 mm – perspective view of L-profile

The unequal aluminium angle 40×20×2 mm is a versatile L-profile designed for support structures, trims, frames, and repairs. Made from alloy EN AW-6060 T64 (AlMgSi0.5 / PA38), it combines low weight with good rigidity and natural corrosion resistance. The two-metre length weighs just 0.64 kg, making transport and installation easy — even when handling large quantities on site.

The unequal proportions of the angle (40 mm × 20 mm) allow the profile to be optimally suited to locations where greater load-bearing height is required whilst maintaining a narrow base — for example as a frame stiffener, panel surround, cable bracket, or edge trim for aluminium structures.

Properties of EN AW-6060 T64 Alloy

EN AW-6060 alloy in the T64 temper is one of the most widely used aluminium alloys for structural and installation sections. It offers good machinability — it can be cut, drilled, and milled easily with standard tools. The natural oxide layer provides basic corrosion protection in indoor environments; for outdoor applications the profile can be additionally anodised or powder-coated. The mill finish, non-anodised surface allows direct welding, bonding, or any finishing treatment without the need to remove a coating.

Applications

  • Support structures and mounting frames
  • Stiffening and edge finishing of aluminium profiles
  • Surrounds, guards, and cable management guides
  • Repairs and temporary reinforcement of existing structures
  • Supports and connectors in lightweight installation structures
