Square tube insert 60×60 mm, grey
The grey Square tube insert 60×60 mm is a finishing component that closes the open end of a tube or hollow profile. Polyethylene is commonly used for components that protect profile ends, and individual sale makes it easy to order the exact number of inserts needed for a given job.
The insert consists of two parts: an external flange that covers the edge of the profile, and a ribbed internal section that fits inside it. Once fitted, it gives the end of the profile a neat appearance and covers the opening.
Applications and selection
- Closing the ends of square profiles with a nominal size of 60×60 mm, for example in support structures, frames and similar hollow-profile structures
- Fits profiles with different wall thicknesses, allowing one type of insert to be used with several profile variants
- Neat finishing of open profile ends after cutting to size
Plastic inserts are used to protect the inside of profiles from dirt and to cover sharp edges that could injure hands or damage clothing. The ribs on the internal section of this type of insert conform to the profile walls and hold the insert in place once pressed in.
Installation
Press the insert into the open end of the profile until the flange rests against its edge. Before installation, check that the profile wall thickness is within the range given in the specification and that the cut edge is free of burrs, so the insert sits evenly.
