Square tube insert 40×40 mm, anthracite, wall thickness 1.2–3.0 mm
The Square tube insert 40×40 mm in anthracite (RAL 7016) provides a neat finish to the open ends of tubes and hollow sections. Made of polyethylene, it is designed for tubes with a wide range of wall thicknesses, allowing one variant to fit different tubes of the same cross-section.
The insert consists of a flat external flange and a ribbed insertion section. The flange covers the cut edge and closes the end of the tube, while the ribbed internal section fits inside it.
Applications and selection
- closing the ends of 40×40 mm square tubes in steel and aluminium structures,
- covering sharp edges after cutting the tube,
- providing a uniform, neat finish for dark-coloured structures,
- sold individually, for finishing each open tube end.
The dark anthracite shade (RAL 7016) complements structures made from tubes in similar colours. Polyethylene inserts are commonly used to close tube ends by pressing the insert into the opening.
Installation
Before installation, remove any burrs from the tube edge and check that the tube dimensions match the insert. Push the insert into the tube opening until the flange sits flush against the end.
The internal cross-section and wall thickness of the tube are important when selecting an insert, so it is advisable to check the fit with a single sample before ordering a larger quantity.
