Square tube insert 18×18 mm, white

The white Square tube insert is a simple finishing component that closes the open end of a tube or hollow section. It is made of polyethylene and consists of a flat external flange and an internal section with ribs that is pressed into the profile.

The external flange covers the edge of the profile, giving the end a neat, even appearance. The ribs on the internal section conform to the profile wall and hold the insert in place once pressed in. The specified core and rib dimensions allow the insert to fit profiles with different wall thicknesses within the same nominal size.

Applications

Polyethylene is commonly used to manufacture inserts because it is lightweight and withstands the minor mechanical loads involved in pressing the component into a profile. The white colour is suitable where the insert needs to provide a light, neutral finish in keeping with the appearance of light-coloured structures.

When selecting an insert, it is important to match it to the nominal profile size and wall thickness. The external section determines how far the insert protrudes beyond the profile edge, while the internal section determines how deeply it enters the profile. To install, press the insert into the open end of the profile until the flange rests against its edge.
