Description
Square tube insert 18×18 mm, anthracite
The Square tube insert for 18×18 mm profiles is used to close the open end of a hollow profile. Inserts of this type give the structure a neat finish and conceal the profile's cross-section.
The insert is made of polyethylene in anthracite (RAL 7016). The flat flange covers the edge of the profile, while the ribbed stem slides inside and holds the insert in place. The ribs adapt to the walls of the opening, providing a push fit.

Selection and installation
When selecting an insert, check the external dimensions of the profile and its wall thickness, as both determine whether the ribs fit correctly in the opening. Before installation, remove any burrs and cutting debris from inside the end of the profile so that the stem enters evenly.
Push the insert into the profile opening until the flange sits flush against the edge. Polyethylene is resistant to moisture, so inserts made from this material are also commonly used in structures exposed to outdoor conditions.
