Square tube insert 16×16 mm, brown (RAL 8017)
The brown (RAL 8017) Square tube insert 16x16 mm closes the open end of a tube, giving it a neat, protected finish. It is made of polyethylene, and its flat flange covers the edge of the tube.
The internal section of the insert has ribs that slide into the tube opening. The insert is designed for tubes with a nominal dimension of 16 x 16 mm, and its design accommodates the different wall thicknesses specified below.
Applications
- Protecting open ends of square tubes in metal structures
- Finishing fences, railings, frames and furniture bases made from steel tubes
- Colour matching with components in brown RAL 8017
Plastic inserts are commonly used to protect the inside of tubes from dirt and to cover sharp edges left after cutting. When selecting an insert, check the nominal tube dimension and wall thickness.
Polyethylene is a lightweight material commonly used for injection-moulded products of this type. The uniform brown colour allows the insert to be matched to structural components finished in the same shade.
