The SolarEdge S440 power optimiser is an advanced device designed specifically for use with SolarEdge inverters in residential installations. Thanks to individual maximum power point tracking (MPPT) for each panel, the optimiser increases energy production from the entire photovoltaic installation. It maintains a high circuit voltage, which directly translates into higher inverter efficiency. The built-in SafeDC system automatically reduces the circuit voltage to a safe level in the event of grid shutdown, inverter shutdown, or fire — protecting both the installer and emergency services. The optimiser also detects unusual behaviour in the PV connection, preventing potential safety issues. Each module is monitored individually through the SolarEdge monitoring system, allowing quick identification of underperforming panels.
