Rectangular tube insert 20×30 mm, colourless

The 20×30 mm rectangular tube insert is a finishing component for the ends of hollow rectangular profiles. It closes the open end of the profile, gives it a neat appearance and limits the ingress of dirt.

The insert is made of polyethylene and is colourless. The internal section has ribs that press against the profile walls and hold the insert in place. The external flange covers the edge of the profile, concealing it once fitted.

Selection and installation

The insert is selected according to the nominal profile dimensions and wall thickness, so before purchasing, check that the profile wall thickness is within the range stated in the specification. Press the insert into the open end of the profile until the flange rests against its edge.

Plastic inserts are commonly used in structures made from steel and aluminium profiles, such as frames, frameworks, bases and support components. They cover the sharp edges of the cut tube, limit the ingress of dust and moisture into the profile and give the finished structure a neater appearance.

Insert construction

The insert consists of an external flange that covers the profile edge and an internal ribbed section that fits into the opening. The ribs adapt to profile walls within the thickness range stated in the specification.
