Description
Countersunk timber screw, zinc-plated, TX25, 5.0×80 mm – partially threaded – pack of 250

The Countersunk timber screw is a structural timber fastener designed for installation teams and contractors who regularly make connections in timber structures. It is sold in a pack of 250, so one order item corresponds to a full pack.
The countersunk head sits flush with the timber surface, so it does not protrude once driven in. The Torx drive holds the bit securely during installation, and the screw is compatible with commonly available bits and screwdrivers with a bit holder.
The partial thread allows the timber components to be pulled tightly together: the thread engages in the receiving component, while the smooth shank passes through the component being fixed. Structural screws of this type are used to join roof timbers, frames, beams, joists and timber substructures.

Low-carbon steel with an electro-zinc-plated coating is a common choice for timber fasteners: the zinc coating protects the steel against corrosion, while giving the screw a uniform golden appearance. When choosing the screw length, it is generally assumed that the entire thread should sit within the receiving component.
Typical applications
- roof timbers and timber frame structures
- joining beams, rafters, purlins and joists
- timber frames and substructures
- carpentry and joinery work where the head must sit flush with the surface
