Description
Countersunk timber screw, zinc-plated, TX25, 5.0×70 mm – partially threaded – pack of 250

A countersunk timber screw is a fastener for timber structures. The countersunk head sits flush with the surface of the wood, while the Torx drive holds the bit securely during installation.
The screw is made of low-carbon steel with an electroplated zinc coating that provides corrosion protection. The partial thread allows the timber components to be pulled tightly together. The product is sold in a bulk pack – one shop item is a complete pack of 250 screws.
Applications
- Joining timber structural components in carpentry work.
- Fixing timber where the head needs to sit flush with the surface.
- Joints where the partial thread needs to pull the components together.

Screw construction
The screw shank consists of a smooth section beneath the head and a threaded section, allowing the components to be pulled tightly together. The electroplated zinc forms a protective coating on the low-carbon steel.
Timber screws with a Torx drive are commonly used for structural timber joints because the star-shaped drive holds the bit securely during installation.

Technical drawings
The technical drawings show the outline of the countersunk screw, the overall length and thread length markings, and dimension tables for each diameter. They help with selecting a screw to suit the thickness of the components being joined.

The dimensional drawing shows the screw's construction: a ribbed countersunk head, a smooth section of the shank, the thread and the tip. This information is useful when planning timber joints.
