Description
Countersunk timber screw, zinc-plated, TX25, 4.5×60 mm – partially threaded – pack of 500

The Countersunk timber screw with a TX25 Torx recess is a fastener for joining timber structures. The countersunk head sits flush with the surface of the wood, while the Torx recess allows torque to be transferred reliably from the bit to the screw.
The 4.5×60 mm screw is partially threaded, allowing it to pull the timber components together and hold them tightly when tightened. It is made from low-carbon steel with an electroplated zinc coating that provides a protective layer for the steel screw.
Applications
- joining timber roof truss and frame components
- installing battens, beams, boarding and timber substructures
- carpentry and joinery requiring a head flush with the surface of the wood

Selection and use
Partially threaded timber screws are used where the components being joined need to be pulled and held tightly together. The smooth part of the shank beneath the head passes freely through the component being fastened, while the thread engages in the base component. The Torx recess requires a TX25 bit.
Low-carbon steel with an electroplated zinc coating is a typical choice for use in dry interiors and timber structures. The product is sold in a pack of 500 screws – one shop item corresponds to the entire pack, making it easier to supply a team when a project involves a larger number of connections.
