Description
Countersunk timber screw, zinc-plated, TX20 4.0×50 mm – partially threaded – pack of 500

The 4.0×50 mm Countersunk timber screw is a fastener for timber structures, with a head that sits flush with the wood surface when tightened. The Torx TX20 drive provides a secure fit for the bit and reduces the risk of slipping when using a power screwdriver.
The screw is made from low-carbon steel with an electroplated zinc coating, which protects the steel against corrosion under typical conditions of use. The partial thread allows the timber components to be drawn tightly together. One shop unit is a full pack containing 500 screws.
Applications and selection
- Joining timber structural components in carpentry and joinery work.
- Fastening timber to timber where the head needs to sit flush with the surface.
- Work using a power screwdriver and a Torx TX20 bit.

Partially threaded timber screws are generally used so that the thread anchors in the receiving component while the smooth part of the shank passes freely through the component being clamped. This draws the boards or beams together.
The countersunk head allows the screw to sit flush in the wood, while the 25 mm thread on the 4.0×50 mm screw corresponds to half its length. When selecting the screw length, consider the thickness of both components being joined.
