Description
Countersunk timber screw, zinc-plated, TX20, 4.0×70 mm – partially threaded – pack of 500

The countersunk timber screw is a structural fastener for wood, designed for carpentry and joinery. The countersunk head sits flush with the surface of the wood, while the Torx TX20 drive provides a secure grip on the bit during installation.
The screw is made from low-carbon steel with an electroplated zinc coating that protects the surface against corrosion. The 4.0×70 mm size with a partial thread is a common choice for joining timber components: the smooth part of the shank near the head sits within the component being fastened.
The product is sold in a pack of 500 – one shop listing represents the whole pack, and the screws are supplied in a cardboard box.

Applications and selection
- Joining structural timber components, e.g. roof structures, frames and substructures
- Carpentry and joinery work requiring a head flush with the wood surface
- Installation using a Torx TX20 bit in a power screwdriver
- Use in dry indoor environments and structures sheltered from moisture
Electroplated zinc-coated steel is commonly used for fasteners in dry conditions. Countersunk timber screws should be selected in a length suited to the thickness of the components being joined, while the Torx drive reduces the risk of the bit slipping during installation.
