Aluminium flat bar 40×8 mm in alloy EN AW-6060 T64 (AlMgSi0.5 / PA38) is a versatile flat profile with a length of 2000 mm, designed for support structures, mounting frames, finishing and repairs. Thanks to its low self-weight of just 1.72 kg per 2-metre length and high corrosion resistance, this flat bar is ideal wherever durability and ease of machining matter — both in photovoltaic installations and general structural work.

The EN AW-6060 alloy in T64 temper provides good rigidity whilst retaining sufficient ductility for bending and forming. The raw (non-anodised) surface allows further processing — anodising, powder coating or painting — depending on project requirements.

  • Width (A): 40 mm
  • Thickness (T): 8 mm
  • Length: 2000 mm
  • Material: aluminium EN AW-6060 T64 (AlMgSi0.5 / PA38)
  • Surface: raw (non-anodised)
  • Weight per 2 m length: 1.72 kg (0.86 kg/m)

Applications

The 40×8 mm aluminium flat bar is widely used by installation companies as a structural support element for photovoltaic panels, for building frames and racks, as reinforcement for mounting profiles, and for edge finishing and protection. It is also well suited to metalwork — it can be easily cut, drilled and joined using bolts or rivets. Its low weight facilitates transport and installation at height, whilst aluminium's corrosion resistance eliminates the need for additional anti-corrosion treatment under typical atmospheric conditions.
