Locinox Mammoth-180 is a professional hydraulic self-closing hinge integrated with a hinge mechanism designed for pedestrian gates and doors. The device combines the function of a load-bearing hinge with controlled self-closing in one compact module, eliminating the need to install a separate self-closer. Thanks to the 180° opening angle, the gate opens in both directions, providing free passage for prams, movement with materials, or evacuation in an emergency.
The system consists of two modules — an upper one (with built-in hydraulic mechanism) and a lower one (load-bearing hinge), which together guarantee stable guidance of the leaf and smooth closing. Internal construction and operating principle
The interior of the upper module houses a precision hydraulic mechanism with a multi-stage system of springs and gears. The springs are responsible for the automatic return of the leaf to the closed position, while the hydraulic damper controls the speed of this movement — eliminating slamming and excessive strain on the gate structure. Thanks to the enclosed housing, the mechanism is protected from dust, water and corrosion, guaranteeing many years of trouble-free operation without the need for lubrication or maintenance.

Installation on different types of posts
The Mammoth-180 can be installed on both square and rectangular profiles and on round posts — in the latter case, dedicated clamp adapters are used. Regardless of the post type, after installation three-dimensional adjustment (horizontal and vertical, each ±20 mm) is available, allowing precise positioning of the gate leaf without the need to dismount the hinge. This is particularly useful when levelling the gate position after foundation settling or when installing on posts with dimensional deviations.
