Locinox Mammoth-180 is a professional 2-in-1 solution — a self-closing hydraulic hinge with an opening angle of up to 180°, designed for gates in industrial, commercial and residential fencing. Thanks to its built-in hydraulic mechanism, it eliminates the need for a separate self-closer, which significantly reduces installation time and lowers component costs.
The set consists of two elements — an upper hinge with a built-in hydraulic self-closer (height 400 mm) and a lower guide hinge (height 100 mm). The compact body diameter of only 52 mm means the hinge looks great on any type of fencing.
Internal Structure and Operating Principle
Inside the Mammoth-180 body there is a precise hydraulic mechanism with springs and a gear system. This patented solution ensures smooth and controlled closing of the gate — without slamming, impacts or excessive strain on the structure. The closing speed can be adjusted to suit the weight of the gate and the conditions of use.
The hydraulic end-of-travel damper protects both the lock and the fence frame from impacts, resulting in a longer service life of the entire installation. The system is fully sealed — the hydraulic oil does not require replacement or topping up.
Applications
The Mammoth-180 is ideal wherever a gate needs to close automatically — industrial fencing, production plant areas, pool fencing that meets safety requirements, palisade fencing, panel fencing and mesh fencing. The 180° opening angle allows unobstructed passage and enables installation in locations where the gate needs to open in both directions.
Universal Mounting — Round and Square Profiles
The Mammoth-180 is compatible with both round and square posts — all you need is the appropriate mounting bracket set. The required gap between the post and the gate frame is 15 to 35 mm, providing great flexibility when designing the fence. The hinge allows vertical and horizontal adjustment of ±20 mm, enabling the installer to precisely align the gate even on slightly uneven terrain.
